Who are we….
Mission Statement
Bowling Green Surge strives to help develop great basketball players that are inspired to be the best on the court and off of it in their classrooms and home life. We will build a safe and supportive environment for the girls to be able to make lasting friendships and be under good influences.
Strategy
We have three core focuses that will develop our players.
Focusing on practice for development. So many players in middle school struggle on the fundamentals like finishing/dribbling with both hands, knowing how to run an offense, and knowing the rules of the game. By emphasizing practice over games, we will build a strong routine the players can depend on to build their skills.
Surrounding the players with great influences/ role models they can connect with. This includes bringing in BGSU WBB players to practice when possible, as well as keeping women coaches on staff for every practice/game. We want to not only coach the players the game, but encourage them to be fans of the game. This includes team outings to BGSU WBB and BGHS WBB games when possible!
Emphasizing the mental side to the game of basketball. This includes bringing in Youth Sport Psychology trainers to teach toughness and “dog” mentality. We also heavily encourage multi-sport athletes and will have volleyball leagues that players can join to keep that mental balance and avoid “burnout” down the road.
Goal
Bowling Green Surge’s goal is for our graduating players to be the best players on their middle school basketball teams. We also will set them on the right path of work ethic and skill that will get them to a college basketball program.

Program Leader/ Owner
Hi! I grew up in Ann Arbor, MI. I moved to BG in 2021 to attend BGSU to achieve my degree in Sport Management. I am working towards my Masters Degree in Sport Administration. I played travel basketball and swim team growing up, as well as baseball. My family is full of D-1 athletes, I have seen the commitment and mentality it takes to take it to the highest level. I currently spend my time teaching at BG Community schools and coaching multiple sports in the community.
